mainbuildmodifiedhungflagmodWe offer new, used, rebuilt, and custom configured industrial ultrasonic cleaning & degreasing equipment. We also manufacture cavitation meters that instantly measure the intensity in ultrasonic tanks. These tools can be used to see whether an ultrasonic cleaning tank is working properly. We stock anything and everything to do with ultrasonic cleaners. We will repair or rebuild a customer's ultrasonic cleaner (any brand, style or size) at a reasonable rate. As a distributor of six major brand ultrasonic cleaners, we have the best prices and selection on new equipment as well.

If you are looking for a good ultrasonic cleaner at a very reasonable price, call or email us. We warranty everything we sell for a full year. Please feel free to browse through our web site, and we hope you enjoy your visit here at Alexy Ultrasonics Corp.

Our General Manager, Cornelius Alexy, started working with ultrasonics for Norman Branson in 1961. He founded Alexy Associates, Inc. in 1973. We have been selling and rebuilding used ultrasonic cleaning and degreasing equipment, and manufacturing custom and automated systems since then. Alexy Associates, Inc. has been manufacturing ultrasonic cavitation meters since 1974.

Here are some of examples of the many projects that Mr. Alexy has helped clean:

  • A whole airplane wing at Martin Marietta
  • Apollo 11 moon landing pod at Grumman
  • Heavy production parts of AR-15 rifle at Hydramatic and Colt
  • First integrated circuits during their development at IBM
  • 1 million hypo-needles every day at Sherwood Medical
  • Hubble Telescope optics at Perkin Elmer
  • Wire during drawing at 1000 FPM at Kanthal
  • Countless small projects (please see our rebuilt equipment information page for a list of some of our clients and projects).

With over 40 years experience in design, manufacture, and application of ultrasonic cleaning equipment, we will help you clean.

Our inventory of used ultrasonic cleaning equipment is the largest in the world, with over 600 units. We don't tell you what we have, we ask you what you need. We will match your cleaning application with suitable equipment to save you time and money.

All used units are sold completely rebuilt and carry a full year warranty, equivalent to that of the original manufacturer.

cleaningtankRequirements For Cleaning

The basic requirements for cleaning must first be considered before the theory of ultrasonics. Whether you are cleaning your hands, dishes, laundry, or a precision part of a microprocessor or space shuttle, the basics of cleaning are the same:

When cleaning anything, a chemical (ex: ivory soap on your hands) that will dissolve or work at the soil to be removed must be used.

Appropriate temperature (ex: using hot water when washing hands) that is necessary to enable the above chemical to work. Almost all cleaning chemicals are enhanced by elevated temperature.

Some mechanical means (ex: rubbing your hands in a sink) is needed to move the chemical over, around, and inside the soiled part. To speed the above process, ultrasonics provides the fastest, most vigorous scrubbing known. It will scrub inside crevices and places no other mechanical scrubbing can reach.

Theory of Ultrasonic Cleaning

Ultrasonics is the scrubbing part of the above cleaning process. Ultrasonic cleaning depends upon cavitation, the rapid formation and violent collapse of minute bubbles or cavities in a cleaning liquid. This agitation by countless small and intense imploding bubbles creates a highly effective scrubbing of both exposed and hidden surfaces of parts immersed in the cleaning solution. As the frequency increases, the number of these cavities also increases but the energy released by each cavity decreases making higher frequencies ideal for cleaning delicate items without substrate damage. However, lower frequencies scrub harder and are most suitable for items not prone to damage. As frequencies increase, the amount of energy lost as heat in the liquid also increases, thus higher frequencies are less efficient. Most cleaning is done best in the 20 to 60 KHZ range.

Growth and collapse (implosion) of a cavitation vacuum bubble

Cavitation is produced by introducing high frequency (ultrasonic), high intensity sound waves into a liquid. Consequently, the three essential components of any ultrasonic cleaning system are: a tank to contain the cleaning liquid, a transducer to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, and an ultrasonic generator to produce a high frequency electrical signal. The system must also have sufficient power to reach the threshold of cavitation.

Why an Ultrasonic System?
The recognized advantages of ultrasonic cleaning are:

Because ultrasonic energy penetrates into crevices and cavities, any type of part or assembly can be cleaned. In many cases ultrasonic cleaning is the only way to meet specifications, as in the cleaning of precision parts or assemblies.

Ultrasonic cleaning is faster than any conventional cleaning method in the removal of soil and contamination from parts. Entire assemblies can be cleaned without disassembly. Often, its labor saving advantages make ultrasonics the most economical way of cleaning.

Unlike manual cleaning, ultrasonics offers unmatched cleaning consistency, whether pieces to be cleaned are large or small, simple or complex, handled singly, in batches, or in an automated line.

Why purchase one from Alexy Ultrasonics Corp.?
The main benefits of purchasing a system from us are:

Our extensive experience in this industry will help you choose exactly what size, frequency, and type of unit your specific application will require. We have done almost everything possible with ultrasonics, and we likely have helped someone clean the same thing that you need to clean. Contact us with your specific criteria and/or questions.

We warranty everything we sell for one year, because we are confident that our rebuilding process is just as good as the original manufacturer. Often, we improve equipment we rebuild so it will last longer than a new unit. We maintain parts and service for everything we sell.

Our units are as good as new, at a fraction of the price. Please contact us to see how much money you can save.
